Review is for Intense Copper Red Shade 7/43: This was an absolute dream hair color, so here's hoping this shade is never discontinued! I am a natural gold blonde but have colored my hair red for a few years. I usually use a L'Oreal Preference Light Auburn color and it's always just been ok but gives no depth or shine. To make the color pop, I always had to use Artic Fox colors in orange after coloring. With the VS dye, I have the color I want without the two-step process. Before the dye, my hair was about a half inch of gold blonde roots with a few whites here and there, faded auburn-orange red throughout, and my ends a little lighter. The color came out incredibly even. The dye even took to most of my stubborn pale blonde hairs around the temples. Color came out with lots of depth and shine, as shown in my photo. No filter was added to it.PROS: Incredibly easy to apply - the serum makes the dye so easy to spread. Great gloves, great little brush to apply, doesn't burn my scalp (and I have a few sensitive spots near the back of my neck), doesn't smell too strong, easy to wash out (even though it did take quite awhile for the water to run clear), great even color. Color was true to the box. Didn't make my hair feel dry or damaged at all.I had a bit of leftover dye after covering my hair, so I just used the rest to completely saturate it, but I can see how people with thick, long hair will need 2 boxes. My hair is about mid-bust length but it's also thin and fine.CONS: Red hair color always fades quickly, boxed or salon, so always take that into account. This one lasted a little better than other dyes in this department, however, it's hard for me to judge it because I do wash my hair daily in hot/warm water. (can't stand cold showers!)TIP! In between dye jobs (I color my hair with boxed dye about every 2 months), I use Arctic Fox semi-permanent colors to give it big color boost so my hair looks freshly dyed look all the time. It's like a conditioner so it doesn't damage your hair at all. A blend of their Cosmic Sunshine (yellow) and Sunset Orange is perfect when you're hair is looking a bit faded and dull. It recreated that perfect, deep shiny red-orange I had on day 1 of using this Vidal Sassoon dye. (I am no way affiliated with Arctic Fox, I just think it's a great/healthy way to make your red hair color last longer in between dyes!)I recently tried this based on a couple of great reviews that were detailed and very useful. I am very pleased with the results. For many years I used L'Oreal Paris Feria Hair Color, but since my hair has been coming in much more silver --and gray (which the silver is beautiful, but I'm not quite ready to 'go there' just yet), it stopped being effective in covering the gray and there were many "patches" of hair underneath that just would not "take" the color. So, that's when I moved on to John Frieda, which is still a great product, and I would still use it if I had to. However, after trying this out for the first time, WOW! is all I can say! Not only does it cover the gray, but just like the other two women who gave really useful reviews (one did a video demo), the smell was great; there was no mess anywhere; when I rinsed the color out after leaving it in as directed, and even after several shampoos later, it is still holding the color great! And I love that I don't have to deal with the lower part of my hair being "darker" because of color over color, since using the first three quarters of the product on the roots and then adding the serum to it and putting that on the rest of the hair to "freshen up" the color. My hair doesn't look "flat" like it did prior to this. I cannot afford to go to the salon every 6 weeks to have my roots colored. I can barely afford to have my hair cut (since it's $60 with a tip for a decent haircut -- which is probably cheap where I live, but for a "master" hair professional, just a 'cut' is $46, and that is just too steep! Forget about getting a cut with color for $116!! It's just too much for my budget! Anyway, I highly recommend this. And don't be intimidated by the directions of mixing the color. Everything you need is right there in the box, and it's easy! Sure... it would be easier to have someone else apply the color to the roots... we would all love a little help with that! But, it is easy to follow the directions. Putting it on the roots is difficult for me, personally, but that is because of my severe disabilities. So, if I can do this and get a good result, then most anyone can. I was fortunate to have a $4 coupon to try it out for the first time. If you're on the fence about trying this, I recommend giving it a go (of course, if you are allergy-sensitive, make sure to do the 'test' for that before applying -- I didn't, but then again, I don't usually have allergy problems with coloring my hair and have been doing it for years). This will be my new go-to hair color. This is about colour 5RR and this colour 7/43. 5RR is the most ungodly wicked dark side Goth looking color my wife and I have ever seen, it looks like red cranberry sauce. My wife was not able to find locally Vidal Sassoons No. 7/43 (bright copper penny look) which she had to used twice before since her chemo, and my wifes hair came back light brown and gray mixed. It has been 1 and 3/4 years since her hair has grown back to "Big Hair". She is a 67 Year Old who did not have one gray hair in her head before her breast cancer in 2013 and her hair was bright copper penny which matched Vidal Sassoon No. 7/43 which we latter found here on Amazon and we ordered it. But how to get the 5RR out of her head is still something we are researching. Vedal Sassoon was going to send the refund for the RR5 from where we called the number on the back of the box. So if you want Witchy, Wicked, Ungodly Looking Goth Red, Carnberry Red to match the black darkside black and you want that look then get 5RR, if you want bright copper penny then get this No 7/43. Note that the times my wife used the this one the no. 7/43 it took about 7 - 8 days to settle into the right look of the "Copper Penny Red" look as her original and Naturl hair color. I hope we can find some way to tone down the 5RR where she can use this soon, very soon. Yes one more thing the smell of this DOSE NOT run you out of the house, or keel over dead, or kill your pets as some hair colours smell cause you.Nice colour, as described on box, easy to use, the conditioner leaves hair feeling lovely and soft and shiny.Wonderful colourI love this hair colour. It was easy to apply, the instructions easy to follow and the results are great. I coloured my hair at least 3 months ago with Vidal Sassoon Salonist hair colour and it kept its colour until now. After colouring my hair,it looks great and feels great. It looks healthy and has a nice luster to it. I ordered 3 boxes this time an I had ordered 1 box to try the product about 3 months ago.El tinte es muy bueno, cubre la cana perfectamente, aunque el tiente es un poco fuerte y reseca un poco el cabello, sin embargo es mucho mejor que otras marcas del mercadoexactly lik hair Color used it befor with cheaper price
