My wife is happy with it .Inadequate proof of FDA approval. I would say to future buys, ask for proof before making the purchase. I did turn it on, and its was working. The number 5 level setting may not be safe for your skin. I used experimented with two level settings to see how it will feel. level one did not hurt too much. The instruction say to shave off hair before use. I did not shave before trying level one nor level 5. The highest level did hurt and instantly burnt my hairs, i was careful to not burn my skin. So be aware that level 5 might cause you some pain and maybe a burn injury. I plane on waiting for the vendor to show prove of the FDA paperwork., before adjusting my current rating. if they are unable to show proof FDA approval. I will reaching out to Amazon to report fails advertising.This is the very first IPL Hair Removal device I have ever tried. It is well-made, fits nicely in my hand, easy to use if you take the time to read the instructions, and it effectively slows the growth of new hair. I shaved the area I was going to treat, and simply touched my skin with the tip of the device to trigger the flash of light. I repeated this action until the area I was treating had received a flash of light, and then I did a second flash to each area that I was treating. There was no pain. I've heard people say that it feels like getting flicked with a rubber band, and I agree 100%. There were a couple of hairs remaining in the area I was treating, and I noticed that those hairs were singed after being treated. I felt fine after using the device but applied a cold pack on the area for a minute to help cool the skin. I never felt any pain or burning. I wanted to provide an accurate and honest review, so have used this device a total of 4 times over the past 10 days. Without a doubt, I can tell a big difference after 4 treatments. The only time I needed to shave the area was before the very first treatment. Since then, I've had nothing to shave. Prior to using this device, I needed to shave the area every 2 to 3 days. Nearly 2 weeks have gone by and still no stubble.I am very impressed with this IPL and would have given a 5-star rating, but the device I received was previously used by someone else. The device is loaded with 999,999 flashes of light, but the one I received only had 999,942 flashes remaining. Before receiving my unit, someone had already used 57 flashes. It's pretty gross to think about where this device may have been.All I have to say is that this device works as intended, after a couple of weeks of use you can see the results, you feel a little bit of a zap, but nothing painful, it feels a bit weird at first but you can quickly get used to it, my advice is to use the protective goggles to avoid eye damage, the light this device produce is very strong, I have to say that I do not trust the lenses that come with this unit, they feel very cheap and I wouldn't trust them to protect my sight, saying that I really encourage you to do a research and get the appropriate eye protection, this is very important, nothing is more important than your eyes.So to clarify, I am trying to do the back of my legs and face, so if you can imagine getting behind your knees in a small bathroom after a shower and dry only to stare at this nearly alien tech, since before this month I've never owned one, I've seen photos, but much like the loch ness monster I could not confirm or deny the products existence.So I received the product, I admit, I covered myself in shame for the knowledge of the device arriving made me with to see the hair I hopefully will never see much of again, I hope to see them like pickles at a pizza hut, only at the salad bar, confused and alone.I finally got the nerve to try the laser blaster hair destroyer follicle burning light of *deeeaaattthhh*It works, I think, my hair is definitely a shade lighter than it was before, but my trust on if it's going to last will be for seen in the future, these folliculi have only received a taste of a million bright flashy sleep lights.I am hoping I can edit this in the future, if I can, I'll try to update and give a number of flashes used. So far around 230 for the first run since I did all my legs to test the pain, it definitely isn't as much as I thought it would beAfter reading the instructions I decided not to use this on my skin because it clearly states not to use on tanning skin. I don’t remember see this on the ordering site. I did turn it on and all the levels lit up and the fan was running.
