I purchased this to use with some vinyl drum wrap. I had purchased a used set of acoustic drums, someone had spray painted it. I sanded said drums to bare wood, dyed the snare drum, then attempted to clearcoat over it and the dye lifted and produced undesired results. Sanded that drum back to bare wood, bought some drum-wrap material and rather than bond it contact adhesive, I opted to pull it as tight as I could manage and bond the seam with this stuff; the reason is that I wanted this to be an easily removable solution so I can just slide off the wrapper when I get the inkling to either try another wrap; or, decide to give it another go with dye/clear.It's perfect for it and does exactly what I intended. I say it's odd stuff because one would think this stuff would be very sticky...it's not. In fact, if you handle it, it quickly goes from sticky to NOT sticky. You have to apply it cleanly from the roll to the product you're adhering together without touching it, then pull the backing paper off, and apply it to the 2nd surface you're adhering, again, without touching it; then apply pressure to get the air bubbles out. It also seems to be sensitive to air in the same way; if it's exposed to air for too long, it looses it's sticking power.That said, I did a few tests with it and it seemed like it would do the job. It does seem to also take a bit of time to build it's bond after pressure is applied; IE, a roller is used...and then, time for it to "set". Before then you can pull it apart; though depending on the material that could mean the material distorts or tears before it does. I had the wrap slip on me once when applying and it wasn't an issue...just some materials may not be as kind.
