If you need a reliable solution for strongly bonding, attaching, or mounting substrates having high surface energies, then 3M VHB 4905 Clear Acrylic Tape is all you need. The permanent bonding tape is the ideal replacement of rivets, screws, liquid adhesives, and spot welds as it ensures durable adhesion without any hassle. Durably designed, the bonding tape is perfect to be used in the presence of UV light, moisture, or chemicals due to its unflinching resistivity. The double-sided adhesive tape is transparent and therefore can be used on glass or acrylic materials and other lightweight substrates.
Clear Tape: this transparent tape has been designed to use with glass or acrylic objects and maintains a strong adhesion. It can be used at the place of rivets, screws, spot welds, or liquid adhesives
Durability: the acrylic tape has been durably manufactured and creates permanent bonding. The tape can be used in heavy-duty working environment, as it is resistant to UV light, moisture, chemicals, and harmful solvents
Dual-Sided Adhesion: the tape is a double-sided adhesive that helps ensure a smooth appearance without the hassles of drilling, riveting, or weld distortion
Applications: use the clear adhesive to bond transparent, thin, or lightweight materials. The adhesive tape can be used to mount backlit signs and thus is ideal for restaurant, lodging, and entertainment industries
Specifications: the tape strip measures 4 in. in width, 9 in. in length, and is 0.020 in. thick
This tape is just amazing; it is very thin and unbelievably strong when given the proper bonding time of about thirty minutes for each side to fuse with the substrate before testing the bond. If you want a permanent bond (or semi-permanent; it can be removed with effort and a heat gun), I cannot say I have come across a better bonding tape. If there is a better adhesive out there please respond to my review because I would love to try it, I frequently have the need for very good bonding tape for my hobbies. This is the exact same tape that is provided by GoPro for their interesting bonded fasteners; not my particular use space but it gives a good idea of what to expect. The Minnesota produced 3M VHB adhesive tapes can solve your need for a strong bond when Epoxies and Cyanoacrylates just won't work. I doubt many people will be as effusive about this or any other tape, so if you need a strong bond do not hesitate to click the buy it now button for this tape.I'm using this to attach aluminum angle to polycarbonate twinwall for a small greenhouse in areas where the tape will be visible. In areas where it will not be visible through clear polycarbonate, I'm using 3M VHB RP16, which is gray instead of clear.I've used 3M's household adhesive tapes in the past, and they work well. This tape is a whole other level of adhesion. Great stuff.VERY Hard to peel. The actual sticky part that remains is VERY thin which is good but I have wasted a lot of tape trying to get a fingernail or razor in between the tape and the cover. All tape should be VHB tape. This stuff is awesome! It should be noted that this type of VHB tape is designed for high contact surfaces, AKA flat. I used it to hold some sensors on glass windows. It has not come loose due to vibrations or temperature changes, but it does still come off if you pull continuously on it. Look up the different types of VHB tape on 3M's website to find the right tape for your application before you buy.I purchased this tape specifically because of it's temperature rating (200 degrees). I needed a bullet proof tape to attach my dashcam to the windshield (where temps can reach 160 degrees on a sunny day - even in Seattle!).It has been a huge disappointment. I often find the dashcam hanging by it's wires. I've re-applied the tape, just to be sure. No difference. Today was one of those rare sunny days in Seattle and once again it was hanging by the wires. I used an infrared thermometer to measure the temperature: 145 degrees. I also measure the black mirror mount just an inch away: 145 degrees. The advertised 200 degrees is a gross misstatement.I don't mind paying a lot for a product if I it works.$20 a roll is just a waste of money. Not in this case. The image is not the correct item. The size is actually 0.125 in (1/8 in) width. The correct size is stated in the title & description of the item -- just don't be misled by the photo as we were. We were trying to find something quickly and just didn't pay enough attention. It would be helpful to have the correct item pictured, and perhaps with a quarter coin next to it for frame of reference.Worked well for making a homemade canoe out of Coroplast. I gave it four stars because you can still peel two pieces apart if you really try, so they are not bonded together, just stuck really tight.nice product good priceThe image is not the correct item.
